Feelings of low self-esteem, fear of failure and rejection, and conflict and frustration in the home, school, and community can lead to serious consequences: medical illnesses, chemical dependency, depression, and inappropriate, risk-taking behaviors all of which can result in disciplinary action taken by the school or worse, the police.
